Slaidburn Silver Band

With its Band Room in Church Street Slaidburn, the band which started in 1898 continues to flourish under the leadership of the enthusiastic, long time conductor, John Cowking.  Initially it was a brass band but it switched to being a silver band when William King-Wilkinson gave it new instruments in 1907 precisely 100 years before the village hall opened.

It plays regularly at local events like the Hodder Valley Show, Brass at the Bounty concerts, the over 60’s party and the Remembrance Day service as well as at many outside venues.

Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings in Clitheroe and it is easiest to make first contact by email to: enquiries
