Slaidburn and Easington Parish Council

The first meeting of Slaidburn Parish Council was held on Friday 4th January 1895. Five members were present and signed the Declaration of Acceptance of Office.

In 1976 Slaidburn and Easington Parish Councils merged to form one council with seven seats. During the year, there are six scheduled meetings:

February:

March: This is also the annual Parish meeting and members of the electorate are invited to attend.

May: The election of officers for the coming year.

July:

September:

November: Set the precept (based on projected expenses for the following financial year).

Maintenance of the War Memorial and the tubs are part of the Council's responsibility.
