Slaidburn Archive

Archive 1
Some of the records

A fascinating and growing collection of records, photographs and displays concerning the neighbourhood including details of farms, field names and families. The archives are housed in Slaidburn Heritage Centre on Church Street and open most Wednesdays and Fridays.

It was started after Jenny Bradley was proposed at a Hodder Valley Show AGM as the Show archivist. She then became involved in the WI field name programme and the archive has snowballed ever since.

There is now an assistant archivist, Helen Wallbank, and a whole team of helpers busy checking, collating and displaying records.

It is worth checking by phone on 01200 446161 before visiting.
